¿WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CALISTHENICS?
If you are a beginner and are hesitating to enter the world of calisthenics, you should know what are its benefits? Well, here we tell you, but first, a brief explanation of what it is ....
WHAT IS CALISTHENICS?
This sport consists of exercises that are performed with your own body weight, without any equipment, making it an easy, simple and accessible alternative for everyone. Unlike other anaerobic disciplines, the objective of calisthenics is to achieve complete control of the movements through the different muscle groups and not so much strength or power as in weight lifting activities.
The word calisthenics comes from the terms Kallos (beauty) and Sthenos (strength). It seeks the beauty and harmony of the body in the movements of each exercise. That is why the execution of the routines must be precise and coordinated in the best possible way, thus achieving better results and avoiding possible injuries.
MENTAL CONTROL:
This is an exercise that requires concentration to perform the postures correctly. Our mental and body control will be fundamental in high difficulties.
IS A COMPLETE SPORT:
It allows us to work our muscular strength, agility and coordination being these exercises of high difficulty and require the simultaneous work of all our aspects. The latter makes it ideal for toning all muscle groups (Biceps, Triceps, abdomen, pectorals, etc.). Most of the routines require the tension of different muscles, so without realizing it, we work several parts of the body in a single moment.
FUNCTIONAL TRAINING:
Facilitates everyday movements; our day-to-day movements will be more comfortable ( flexing our arms, etc).
PRACTICALITY:
The investment in this discipline is minimal. If we keep the pure concept of calisthenics, we would not need additional equipment (unless you want additional weight: vest, elastic bands or exercise bars). As you progress, it is advisable to join a gym to work on other types of training, in addition to receiving professional advice. Another quality is that you can train anywhere. Although it is best to work out in a gym or in a park, you can easily set up your own circuit at home. So there are no excuses not to train...
UNLIMITED ROUTINES:
There are many variations of workouts, it is recommended that you create your own routine, adapting them to your level of resistance.
WEIGHT LOSS:
Being intense routines, fat burning will be evident, however, there are alternatives more suitable for that mission. Aerobic exercises are the best for that.
